Adult "Fundamentals" MTB Coaching at Sherwood

Throughout the autumn we’re going to be running a series of adult group MTB sessions at Sherwood Pines. 

Are you looking to elevate your mountain biking abilities? Our Adult trail confidence coaching sessions are aimed at less experienced riders & designed to build your confidence and skills out on the trail. Primarily using the range of blue graded trails at Sherwood Pines.

Session Overview

Our coaching sessions are structured to focus on the core principles of mountain biking trail riding. Over the course of 1.5 hours.  

Price: £20 Duration: 1.5 hours Required experience: Beginner Capacity: 10 participants Age range: 18+

What You Will Learn

During the session, our expert coaches will cover:

  1. Bike Positioning: Learn how to position yourself on the bike to maximize control and stability on various trail features.
  2. Slow Bike Control & Balance: Master slow speed manoeuvres and balance techniques essential for more technical trail sections.
  3. Handling Loose and Rough Surfaces: Gain confidence in navigating through challenging terrains like loose gravel and uneven paths.
  4. Line Choice Through turns & berms: Understand how to choose the best lines through flat turns and berms for a smoother, more controlled ride.
  5. Braking control: understanding to apply modulation to your braking techniques to maintain & maximise grip when out on the trail.

Is each session different?

Each of our Autumn MTB sessions at Sherwood will be different, utilising different areas of the trail network to focus on various skills and techniques.
These sessions are designed to offer opportunities for both repetition and progression, allowing riders to build confidence and refine their techniques over time. While there's plenty to gain from attending a single session, by attending multiple sessions, participants can maximise their improvement, as each session introduces new elements to focus on.

What Bike Do You Need?

To fully benefit from the session, you'll need a good quality mountain bike suitable for rough terrain. Your bike should be able to handle the demands of the Sherwood Pines Red route trail.

Whether you're just starting out or looking to refine your skills, our Adult Trail Skills coaching sessions offer the perfect opportunity to develop your mountain biking prowess. Join us at Sherwood Pines and take your riding to the next level!

Timings

The sessions will take place at Sherwood Pines forest trails on selected Sundays, 10:00 - 11:30.
