Changes to Bike & Helmet Hire Arrangements
At Clancy Briggs we believe every child should learn to ride a bike, whether they own their own bike or not. That’s why we have a fleet of academy bikes and helmets for children to borrow during academy sessions.
As a new, local business trying to keep everything running in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, we’ve found that the cost to maintain this fleet is significant.
As you might expect when children are learning to ride, they often have wobbles and scrapes, and we have a responsibility to see that the bikes are maintained and in good working order to ensure the safety of our members.
So that we can keep providing fleet bikes for those children who don’t have one at home, from 1st August 2020 we will be introducing a small, non-profit hire charge of £3 per session. This payment will help to cover our wear and tear costs.
The new procedure if you’d like to use an academy bike is as follows:
1. In advance of your class (no later than 24 hours before) please email [email protected] stating that you wish to hire a bike
2. We will contact you by email to arrange payment in advance of your session
Please note we are unable to take cash payments on the day of the class due to the risk of coronavirus transmission.
At the moment, we won’t be lending helmets for hygiene reasons. Once we are permitted to do this again, the helmet will be included in the £3 charge if you need to borrow one.
Thank you for your understanding, we look forward to seeing you on the track!
