Greno Woods MTB Coaching

We’re super excited to say that in 2025 we’ll be offering mtb coaching from a new venue – Greno Woods.

Located on the edge of the peak district, this fantastic venue, close to Sheffield offers a number of maintained mtb trails with some advanced terrain & technical features that will allow riders already familiar with our Sherwood Pines MTB sessions to progress their skills further and continue to develop.

Greno Masterclass

Location – Greno Woods, S35 7DS. Timings - This session runs from 10:00 – 16:00 Suggested age – 10-16 (We’re cautious about using age as a guide for these sessions, as we’ve found ability is more important)

Required ability – Riders must be confident on red graded trails as a minimum. (if you’re not sure, our Red Masterclass at Sherwood pines would be a better place to start).

What do we get up-to?

The day takes place 10:00 – 16:00, riders will break down the trails at Grenoside and work through the necessary techniques in more detail. From the techniques we cover to the features we’ll be exploring this is a step up from our Red Group sessions at Sherwood. We’ll cover skills like…

·         Body position – how to stay strong and balanced.

·         The difference in technique between flat turns and berms.

·         How to lift your wheels & distribute your weight.

·         How to jump with control.

·         How to move on the bike.

What sort of bike do I need? You'll need a good quality MTB, suitable for riding over the rough terrain found at Grenoside. Most importantly, it must be well maintained.

What equipment is needed?

1.       Working bike & helmet – this doesn’t have to be a high-end model but must be of good quality suitable for advanced off-road terrain and in good working order. Helmets must of appropriate size/fit for the rider & must be in good condition (no cracks) If you’re not sure if your bike is sufficient then feel free to contact us on [email protected] & our coaches can advise you further.

2.      Packed lunch (with lots of high energy food)

3.      Spare innertube (that fits your bike)

4.      Warm clothing and waterproofs. You can’t have enough of these even if the weather looks great, we’ll be outside all day and once cold or wet it’s hard to warmup again.

5.      Plenty of snacks and drinks. lots of high energy snacks (bananas, flapjacks and jelly babies are popular) are important.

6.      Plenty of water/drinks – you’ll need enough for the whole day.

7.       Gloves – cold hands are horrible. Crashing without gloves is also unpleasant.

8.       Sun cream

Our complete team of fully qualified experienced, insured, First Aid trained & Enhanced DBS checked instructors will be on hand for your child's every need throughout the afternoon to ensure your child is happy, safe & having the time of their lives.

The price is £65 for the whole day.
