Ranby House After-School Clubs
We’re back again for our 5th year at Ranby house school, delivering our after-school cycling club sessions to school pupils & we can’t wait for the autumn term to begin!
Learning cycling skills offers children numerous benefits, both physically and mentally. It enhances their coordination, balance, and overall fitness, contributing to a healthy lifestyle. Cycling also fosters independence and confidence as kids learn to navigate their surroundings. Additionally, it encourages outdoor exploration, providing a fun and eco-friendly way to enjoy nature. Mastering these skills early on can also instill a lifelong love for physical activity, promoting well-being throughout their lives.
Who are ClancyBriggs?
We’re a cycling academy specializing in children’s cycling founded by Olympic gold medalist Ed Clancy & former professional cyclist Graham Briggs. We offer a group environment which encourages learning and development. Your child will become part of a group that learns to play at cycling together, rewarding each other and spurring each other onwards as they acquire new skills and abilities.
When do you run the clubs?
We run our afterschool clubs at Ranby on Thursdays and Fridays. On each day, we offer a club between 15:35 -16:10 for EYFS, Y1 & Y2 students & a later club at 16:10 -17:10 for Y3/4/5 & 6 pupils.
Do I need to bring a bike?
Yes, we encourage youngsters to bring their own bikes (these can be dropped off in the old gym) as they're usually more confident and comfortable on their own from home. However we do have a number of bikes which can be hired for the term (bikes cost £4/week), please email us at least 7 days prior to book one of these bikes so we can ensure the appropriate size reached Ranby.
Session Overview
We cater for a range of abilities on each session, right through from teaching the fundaments of riding unaided for less confident youngsters to instructing more confident riders on advanced techniques like ramp skills, slow bike control & balance & body position. It’s all about fun & developing cycling skills to enable you to become a safe, confident cyclist in later life, whatever your starting point.
How to get involved?
