Children can attend Balance classes from 18 months upwards.
Once they are able to Pedal and balance confidently they can attend the Pedal classes.
Pedal classes will generally cater for riders from age 4 to 16.
Race classes will be suited to older children ages 10 to 16 who have an interest in racing, introducing them to a set of skills that are essential tools of good racers at every level of the sport.
Clancy Briggs Cycling Academy operates an online booking system. Choose your preferred venue and weekly time slot.
Once you have signed up and entered your details your Membership top will be ordered and you will be able to collect at your first coaching session.
Our sessions have been designed by our Head Coach and Coaching Director Graham Briggs, to be engaging, interactive and most of all, fun!
The sessions are designed to help support your child’s health, confidence and social skills.
The Clancy Briggs Cycling Academy has an excellent reward scheme, which we use to try and help children foster a Growth Mindset.
Participants should be ready to go as soon as the class before them has finished. Arriving 10 minutes before the start of the session should give enough time to get kitted up ready for the ride!
The first time you come, arrive a little early to give yourself time to work out where to park and to find our location.
Academy sessions run every week apart from Christmas week and Bank Holidays.
After school clubs do only run during term time and these are booked in blocks. Dates of these sessions are provided to you upon booking.
You should always assume that the session is still on, we will notify you by email if a session has to be cancelled for any reason. We will try to ensure that sessions do continue but if the coaches deem it to be unsafe then the session will be cancelled.
All our coaching assistants have a minimum of British Cycling Level 1 or Balanceability qualifications. For our leaders, British Cycling Level 2 or Bikeability is our minimum standard.
Our coaches have also undergone enhanced DBS checks and have the formal qualifications that enable them to work with young people.
In addition to this, Clancy Briggs Cycling Academy Coaches have mentor and leadership training from Human Performance Specialists Pro Noctis who have mentored Ed Clancy OBE through his professional career.

Drop us an email providing us with your information and we will reimburse your monthly membership payment, less the cost of the class attended during that time.
If your circumstances are changing and you wish to change your regular slot to a new regular slot then please email [email protected] and we give you the option to transfer onto a class which has spaces remaining.
Our regular weekly sessions are aiming to help form a lifelong habit of cycling, to make a positive difference to the children's health, confidence, self esteem and consequently having an overall positive impact on their general well-being. We want to help the children form friendships and feel part of a community that they can enjoy for years to come and where great memories can be made. All this is at the same time as meeting the child's vital need of having FUN!
You will receive a Clancy Briggs Cycling Academy membership top when you sign up to the classes. Once this arrives, we ask participants to wear this jersey to the session so that they look the part!
We recommend that you dress appropriately for the weather conditions on the day. Gloves are compulsory on the Clancy Briggs Cycling Academy sessions to prevent unnecessary cuts and scrapes! We will have some spares but recommend that you bring your own.
We have a fleet of excellent children's bikes from Hope Academy.
These are available to use for children who don't have their own bike or their bike is in need of repair or service. If you wish to reserve a bike so that we know how many to bring, you must contact us by email on a session by session basis.
We highly recommend that you bring your child's regular bike to the session. Your child will be more confident and develop their skills faster on a bike that is familiar to them.
Helmets are compulsory and should be worn at all time in Clancy Briggs Cycling Academy sessions.
Again, we will have spare helmets, please contact us by email to let us know one is required. We do however, highly recommend that you bring your own helmet that your child is familiar with.
For products bought from us you have 14 days from the date of receipt to change your mind and get a refund. The easiest way to arrange this is to contact us on our email: [email protected].
