Summer Holiday Cycling Camps in Doncaster
It feels so good to be able to start planning future activities here at Clancy Briggs!
Over the last 12 months, we've found it difficult to plan in advance due to the on-going pandemic, but we're delighted to let you know that Summer 2021 is going to be different.
Our exciting new summer holiday camps are now on sale and we have plenty of activities to choose from.
We're offering PEDAL camps, ADVANCED PEDAL camps & RACE masterclasses.
Check out the full run down below for what's on the cycling menu in July & August.
Pedal Camps
These sessions can be booked in half day blocks, although children are welcome to book for both morning and afternoon sessions and bring a packed lunch for the hour in-between.
This summer, the focus of the morning and afternoon sessions will be split.
All our morning sessions will be focused on developing skills.
Our afternoon sessions will be in a 'Sports Day' format. As lots of schools have had to abandon usual sports day plans, we want to give the kids a chance to enjoy some fun and friendly competitive races!
Coach Ed O'Connell explains more:
"At the morning sessions, we'll be more focused on developing bike skills through team building games, cycling games and we'll incorporate fun and educational off bike activities such as cycling safety. Then in the afternoon there will be more emphasis on racing - think sports day style with multiple races, team points totals and lots and lots of enthusiastic cheering!"
The PEDAL & ADVANCED PEDAL skills & sports day camps will run on the following dates at the Doncaster Cycle Track:
Tuesday 27th July
Wednesday 28th July
Tuesday 3rd August
Wednesday 4th August
Tuesday 10th August
Wednesday 11th August
Tuesday 17th August
Wednesday 18th August
All you have to do is decide whether you want your child/ren to attend the morning session, the afternoon session or both.
Morning sessions will run from 9.30am to 12pm
Afternoon sessions will run from 1pm to 3.30pm
If staying for the full day, kids will be supervised whilst they eat their packed lunch between 12 and 1pm.
What's the difference between PEDAL & ADVANCED PEDAL sessions?
The PEDAL camps are aimed at the less confident riders. Riders need to be able to ride a bike without the need for stabilisers and must be aged 5 or over.
The ADVANCED PEDAL camps are for kids aged 8+ and are perfect for those confident riders who are actively looking to engage in competition & push their skill set further.
If you're not sure which class if right for your child, get in touch.
Cost - £25 per half day / £50 per full day

Race Masterclasses
Introducing our all new 'Summer of Cycling' Circuit Race Masterclass sessions.
These will run as a 3-week series throughout the summer holidays.
Riders will join one of our race coaches (Graham Briggs or Ali Slater) and form part of their respective teams throughout the series. Points scored during the sessions will count towards each teams’ total.
So, whether you take part in all or just one of the days, you’ll experience the team ethos & your points will help decide the overall team champions!
Our new Masterclass sessions will be comprised of all the elements needed for riders to succeed at a National level. We’ll leave no stone unturned with activities covering warmup protocols, cornering, sprinting, climbing/descending, off the bike S&C movements & race tactics just to name a few.
Additionally we’ll be taking the competitive scenarios to a new level, with coach led racing, national length races, multiple stages & we’ll be including intermediate competitions + time bonus sprints as to add a new dimension to the tactics required.
Coach Graham Briggs explains more:
"We’ll start off in the morning focusing mainly on improving our fundamental racing skills, for example cornering and group riding. Then in the afternoon we’ll include the main coach led racing and put the skills we’ve learned earlier in the day to the test . Don’t think the afternoon is all about racing though, in-between the competition we’ll continue the learning by including mini workshops such as warmups, feedback and tactics"
Our ex-professional coaches will lead this session, so youngsters will get a chance to learn from some of the best. Spending the day with us means that children get to develop new racing skills, build further on their existing ones & explore all aspects of circuit racing.
These sessions at the Doncaster Cycle Track will run for full days on the following dates:
Monday 26th July
Monday 2nd August
Monday 16th August
Sessions start at 9.30am and end at 3.30pm
